Iskolar ng Bayan.
Ngayon ay lumalaban!
Well, as they quote it in here. This university is huge! (literally) There's literally places for you to walk to, heck, why take the jeep when you could go for the long walk? That's my workout, well, now.
Kaya siguro napapansin nila mama na napayat na ako.
Hey! It's been a while since I wrote something about myself. Yes, I know summer is over and all that shit — pero you got to move on. I quote Captain America on it too, "the world is in our hands," so ayon, we got to do something about it.
Sorry! Sabog ako habang tinatype ko to. I have 2 projects due next week, too. So, what's up with me these days? Why haven't I been writing for 9 months? Well, it was clearly nothing.
Clearly, as I would like to say about it, to be honest.
With that being said, this is how I became an Isko, which made me be the man who I am, today. Let's get started.
August 2018.
I was curious about the courses that my classmates and friends would take right after we would graduate from Don Bosco. For real, I had nothing in mind at the time. No goal. No aspiration.
An inspiration, however? Yeah.
September 2018.
There were registries made available for us seniors to take, different colleges, all alotted to different places. I was genuinely frightened by the many universities enlisted before my eyes. I had a lot of choices. There was a problem though, nearly all of the universities that I wanted to be in (ehm, Film, Computer Engineering, Digital Art) were clearly unattainable, mostly due to the fact that my parents won't like my decision to take the first and third courses, and second, due to the money we have. We're not poor. Just average.
October 2018.
Scary times. This month, I took the UPCAT. No big deal. I thought I could do well, especially that I got a minor advantage from Brain Train the same year. I got a blog of that as well, I'd appreciate it if you'll take the time to read that, as well. Anyway, I went to UPLB for the exam, and goodness gracious was I hungry. Mom and Dad brought me food just 4 minutes before the exam, and when that happens, I undergo a state of panic. I was hungry, anxious, and sleepy that morning. People were looking at me like I was some lost, starving kid in need of the sun right after staying outside an angry woman's lawn overnight. I thought I would get eaten alive because of my problems that morning.
But eh, I aced the exam anyway, so that was cool-cool. Some things just really happen, I guess.
November 2018.
Took the DCAT, no big deal, the exam was remarkably easy to answer. This was a sure second chance for me, as they sure would love new students, no matter how smart or uh, good-looking. I mean, they call De La Salle, the "college Don Bosco". I'd love that, to be honest. UP was still lurking, however.
December 2018.
Christmas season. Chilling. UPCAT results were supposed to be out by these times, but I guess some things just had to be delayed. No big deal, sometimes it isn't only the results that get delayed.
uh..
January 2019.
UPCAT results were rumored to come out by this month. I was scared. My UPCAT-taker buddies were panicking. Guess what -- no results. Just delaying the inevitable, I guess. Good job, UP.
February 2019.
No, not even the month for loving and making harot. No. No time for that. The results are approaching, they said. No time to hit other people's DMs, they said. And no, still no results at this time.
March 2019.
ALAS! RESULTS! THE UP-wait no it's the DCAT exams. "Did I make it? It's here -- and it was literally midnight -- I can't..", my very old anxious self said. I was talking to our future batch valedictorian at the time, and he didn't even know that the results were about to released that night. We waited until 12 am, until the site was accessible, and hey!
HEY! HEY HEY HEY! I PASSED! COMPUTER ENGINEERING! LA SALLE!
Oh, how I wish I took a path I was sure about
but no, there came UP Naming Mahal
The website crashed 2 minutes in, (LMAO FORESHADOWING) but I got my results, and boy was I happy. I showed my parents the results, and man, they were happy for me. That was a fun night. I couldn't sleep. Nearly 10 minutes later, my buddy got his results, and man, he got the course he loved as well. Oh, only if we took that same path, we would've been totes besties. lmao that reference
April 1, 2019.
APRIL FOOLS! NGAYON ANG RESULTS NG UPCAT!
It was an uninteresting morning, we had a group discussion with regards to our presentation. Just 20 minutes into the session, our Oral Communication teacher rushed to our window and called Edwin, he said,
"Congrats Edwin! Nakapasa ka! Future Isko yieee"
AND WE WERE ALL AMAZED. LEGIT. THERE WAS APPLAUSE.
although, a sense of doubt that I failed that exam. Yep, I hid my emotions right after, knowing that I wasn't part of that lucky 12%. Well, at least I got that La Salle slot all set up. But, just imagine, someone calling you..
Kamusta ang Iskolar ng Bayan namin?
I mean, that's a heck of an honor! But I guess, some people just don't make the cut, like me.
Until.. HUY DAVID! NAKAPASA KA RIN! BS Biology something ka! PUNTA KA KAY MA'AM!
what?
could it be?
or baka ginagago na naman ako ni ser HAHAHAHAHA
so ayun, di ako pumunta since I NEVER LISTED BS BIO in my desired tracks. Pero bumalik si Sir! And he said it was legit! So I ran off to our APSA's office and my goodness, my Math teacher congratulated me.
"Grabe naman si Iskolar ng Bayan, congrats!"
O.O
O.O?????????????????????????????????????????
O.O!!
wow. just... wow. my day at high school had never been better. I went back to the room telling my classmates that it was legit, and my goodness, it was a heck of a day.
Oh, and yeah, I told my ex-crush-now-turned-ghoster-number-one about the news as well.
She was all, "oh nice. congrats". Totally deserved her. (no)
swishy to the current day!
Today, I'm writing this post not to update anyone. Heck, I forgot this blogspot even existed at all. But that was one heck of a year. I'll say. Right now, I'm failing my Physics 51 units, and I got to make up for that, hng. But like what we say at UP, Padayon!
Kakayanin ang kung ano mang hirap ang dumaan sa amin. Ganun kaming mga Isko eh, we're the cream of the crop, the best of the best, and above all, dignified.
Although some friends were lost on the way, some found new friends, some of them just moving nearby, I'm reluctantly happy that everyone has settled to the colleges they actually belong to. Some of them are happy, and some of them, well, just need a little more time. Like I do. Hopefully, I could survive this 4 (?) rickety-ruggedly mashed up mess that I put myself into.
After all, I got some people who look at me and make me their aspiration, knowing that I was a lost cause before I even got here.
In any case, I gotta go. I need some time off, too.
Till the next one.
