I literally gave this certain person a gift so we could get closer.

 I don't really think that the main purpose of giving something special to someone special means to destroy whatever friendship or relationship you and another person have. It's just a damn gift. Chill the heck out!

For all we know, Christmas is just around and I'm not even ready.

I mean like, we got much more further apart after I gave that gift.
